Increase In Use Of Van Buren's Website By Residents

The City of Van Buren's website, www.vanburencity.org, has received an update.  According to Joe Hurst, Planning Director, they are seeing increased interest and attendance at the City's public meetings due to a link now on the website that has agendas and minutes for all Board and Commission meetings.  Also, they have seen an increase in usage of their site by residents since the new one went live on May 21.

Included on the features are interactive pull-down tabs that inform residents on how to alert the City of potholes, outages of traffic lights and how to contact elected officials.  There are many other things available on it, such as job opportunities with the City and an area where questions and concerns may be submitted to City officials.  The project began almost two years ago.  The development of a cellphone app is the next step in the City's upgrading plans.
