Floodwaters Cover Bridge

The West Fork White River brought 8" of water rushing over the bridge on Dye Creek Road as of Thursday.  This causes difficulties for people that regularly travel that way.  Bruce Myers, who lives down the road from the flooded bridge, said he has seen people cross the bridge anyway and is waiting for the day when it turns into a tragedy.

According to Sargent John Nelson with West Fork Police, the river is monitored closely and the road is taped off anytime the water is over the bridge.  However, Nelson said locals and visitors tear the tape down and drive through it anyway.  He said the police chief and mayor have met to discuss a more permanent solution.
