Two Ft. Smith Officers Involved In Car Crash

A Greenwood man has been charged with second degree battery and driving while intoxi- cated after he was involved in a crash with two off-duty Ft. Smith officers.

On Sunday May 31 around 11:05 p.m., Sargent Rick Entmeier and Officer Craig Allen Sharp left work in separate vehicles.  As they were driving south along Towson, Rocky McGee 27, heading north, veered into the southbound lane and ran head-on into Sharp's vehicle.  Entmeier's vehicle was struck on the front passenger corner as he attempted to avoid the accident.

Sharp received serious, but non-life threatening injuries.  Entmeier was treated and re- leased.  McGee was uninjured.  His passenger, 35 year-old April Kite, received cracked ribs and a broken nose.
