Heavy Rains Cause Flooding At Lavaca Apt Complex

At approximately 3 a.m. Wednesday in Lavaca, a 911 call was received that water from a creek was coming into an apartment complex.  Sargent Randy Toon said when they arrived at the complex located at N. Davis, the buildings had two to three inches of water in them.

Toon said "We just went ahead and evacuated the people staying there at the time.  The creek behind the complex just began rising too fast."  Within an hour and a half, the water had receded.  However, tenants were not going to be allowed back into their apartments until the rain stopped, Toon said.
