Arrests Made After High-Speed Chase

Jeremy Dykes, 36 of Booneville and Jessica Wheeler, 27 of Ft. Smith, have been arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident on Saturday.  A high-speed chase began near an auto parts store on Fayetteville Road in Van Buren and ended in Ft. Smith.

According to Detective Jonathan Wear of the Van Buren Police Department, the vehicle stopped at a cemetery behind the State Police office after exiting on Kelley Hwy.  The       two suspects proceeded to flee on foot.

Wheeler was arrested at the cemetery and Dykes, the driver of the vehicle, was arrested behind a Walmart.  They were both placed in the Crawford County Detention Center.
