Driver Crashes Car Into Ft. Smith Residence

On Saturday, a Sebastian County Deputy attempted to stop a car just after midnight at the intersection of S. 31st & Hwy 71 S.  According to a release from the Sebastian County Sheriff's office, the suspect indicated at first that he was going to stop.  However, he fled when he turned west onto Cavanaugh.

The suspect then proceeded south thru neighborhoods.  He lost control of the vehicle, at which time he crashed into a house located in the 8600 block of Meadow Drive in Ft. Smith.

The female resident of the home was in the driveway when the crash occurred.  She suffered only minor injuries.  The suspect, Raylon Triplett, 25 of Ft. Smith, attempted to flee on foot.  However, Triplett was arrested.  He faces numerous charges including driving with a suspended license, simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm and first degree battery in relation to the injuries sustained by the resident of the home.

The house sustained major damage.  Also damaged was received by two cars in the drive- way, according to Lieutenant Phillip Pevehouse.
