Monday night at a special city council meeting, Cedarville Mayor Glenanna O'Mara announced she will be resigning May 19. According to a post on her Facebook, the reason for the resig- nation is her worsening health. O'Mara also wrote that she requested a special election be held by the city council in order for a new mayor to be chosen by Cedarville residents.
The Facebook post also stated that Larry Merrill, Cedarville Police Chief, also submitted his resignation, effective May 6. The Crawford County Sheriff''s Office will be responding to calls made from Cedarville until Merrill's position is filled.
