Monday morning, a man and woman were traveling northwest of Paris near Short Mountain Road in Logan County, when swift water carried their truck off the road. According to the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the 58 year-old man and 57 year-old woman ended up in a flooded field east of Short Mountain Creek. The couple were on their way to a doctor's appointment.
The Logan County Swift Water Rescue, Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, Logan County EMS, Logan County Sheriff's Office, as well as local farmers, all worked together to rescue the couple.
