May 20, John Root of Ozark was arrested and booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center. Root, 37, faces charges of two counts of breaking or entering and three counts of fraudulent use of a credit card. Police said Root is accused of stealing keys at the Elite 24 Health Club at 1200 S. Waldron Road and the Ft. Smith Athletic Club at 5400 Gary Street on April 25, after which he took numerous items from a vehicle at each location. A new release stated the suspect then used stolen cards fraudulently at Walmart and Walgreens.
