The Red Rooster Bistro was to make its home in the historic Maness Schoolhouse located at 8801 Wells Lake Road in Chaffee Crossing. However, that has changed. In late January, the BKG LLC at 4620 Rogers Ave, the location of Red Rooster Bistro, filed Chapter 11. A restau- rant is still going in. It will be called the StoneHouse Restaurant. The proprietor is Dave Rolens, who has another business downtown. The StoneHouse will primarily be a steak- house, focusing on meat and produce grown locally.
The completion of the Maness Schoolhouse was in February of 1931, according to website of the Chaffee Crossing Historic District. The Army Joint Readiness Training Center was the last to use the building in 1994. In 2003, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
