The City of Greenwood began pumping fluoride into its water supply on July 20. Residents were notified on their water bills of the change. The fluoridation was done to comply with the law that was passed in 2011 by the state legislature requiring water plants that serve more than 5,000 people to add the ingredient to their system. Greenwood has approxima- tely 9,000 residents.
The funding for the process came from a grant. According to Doug Kinslow, Mayor, half of the City's water is purchased from James Fork, which has always had fluoride.
