Greenwood Council Approves Final Reading

The third and final reading of an ordinance was approved Monday by the Greenwood City Council.  It is an ordinance calling for a November 10th special election regarding a tax renewal.  The 0.75% sales and use tax sunsets in 2016.

The tax has been in existence for ten years.  If the renewal is approved by voters, it will stay for at least another ten years.  Firefighters, parks and streets receive equally from the tax revenues.
