Arrests Made In Connection With Arson Cases

There have been multiple arson cases recently in Scott County.  It has been posted on the Waldron Police Facebook page that arrests have been made of an adult and a juvenile in connection with the cases.  It was stated in the post, that the three incidents occurred within city limits, along with damage to a local business.

The Scott County Sheriff's Office also posted to its Facebook page "An investigation into recent fires throughout the county has resulted in arrests for arson, residential burglary, breaking or entering and criminal trespass.  The investigation remains ongoing, with addi- tional suspects being sought and arrests expected.  The names of those involved will not be released until those additional arrests have been made.  The Waldron Police Department, which conducted a parallel investigation into fires that occurred within city limits, will have similar charges on those involved."

The Sheriff's Office does not believe that the string of arson fires is connected with a house fire in July that resulted in the death of a five year-old boy.
