Location For Charter School Being Sought

Trish Flanagan, founder of what would be the first charter school in Ft. Smith, is looking for a location for the school.  Flanagan has shown an interest in the former Girls Inc building at 622 N. 7th Street.  In 2013, the City bought it with plans to turn it into a community center.

Representing the school, Rodney Ghan of  R. H. Ghan & Cooper Commercial Properties, in- formed the Commissioners the City would save $1.5 million by leasing or selling the proper- ty.  The amount is the estimated cost for the building to be renovated.  The internship- based school is to be called Future School of Ft. Smith.
