The City of Greenwood may receive assistance in improving the boat ramp located at Green- wood Lake. Sebastian County and the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission have shown inter- est in helping, according to Mayor Doug Kinslow, former Greenwood Parks Director. The City wants to build a gravel parking lot that will enable people to turn around with their boats. Kinslow said the way it is right now makes it very difficult to get in and out. The City con- structed a mile-plus walking trail around the lake in the past few years.
The lake itself is not in the city limits. Mike Hamby, City Attorney, has been authorized by the City Council to file an annexation petition with Sebastian County. However, Hamby said the City can still do whatever improvements they want even though it is not annexed.
