Ozark Police Department Special Response Team apprehended Amit Mahesh, a parolee from Los Angeles, CA at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 5. This took place after Mahesh, 32, had broken into a house at Private Road 1682 near Knoxville at 2:17 p.m. and proceeded in a standoff with Johnson County Sheriff's Deputies. He was armed with a gun at the time.
The Deputies made several attempts to communicate with Mahesh, but were unsuccessful. They then contacted the Special Response Team. He was taken to the Johnson County De- tention Center after the incident, on a parole violation.
