Sebastian County To Get Electronic Voting Equipment

Sebastian County is one of four counties in Arkansas to receive funds from the office of Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Mark, with which to purchase new electronic voting machines.  The amount of the funds is $986,815.  The recommendation of purchasing enough backup equipment and other materials so that the county will have 250 machines, was made by the Sebastian County Election Commission in a memo to the quorum court.

On August 11, the court approved the spending of an additional $385,561 in order to purchase more equipment.  According to County Judge David Hudson, the county will attain 250 electronic voting machines, 94 electronic poll books and printers for the use of the County Clerk.  Voters in Sebastian County will be using the new voting equipment for the primary in March 2016, Hudson said.
