Freshman running back for the Muldrow football team, Jake Hope, who was injured at a scrimmage Thursday, is at home recovering. Steve Page, High School Principal, said "He went to make a tackle, dove for the running back and somebody came across and their knee hit his head, which caused his neck to jar. He was numb, lost feeling in his left side."
A helicopter landed on the 50-yard line moments later to take him to a Tulsa hospital. There were indications that Hope was going to be alright even before the helicopter arrived. How- ever, they transported him so that he could be checked out. According to doctors, Hope re- ceived a stinger, or a nerve-pinch injury. He was expected to return to school and football Monday, August 31.
