Applications are now being accepted for food truck vendors for the downtown area by the City of Ft. Smith. At the moment, there are 29 food truck vendors licensed, according to Wally Bailey, Planning Director. The vendors are now allowed to set up downtown on private and public property. However, they will not be allowed to operate on state highways or along the truck route.
Hours of operation are from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on downtown public city streets and rights-of ways. Permits are now issued for twelve months under the new rules, which are effective immediately. They were being issued for 120 days.
