Training Exercise Brings Jobs To Ft. Chaffee

Thanks to a training exercise at Ft. Chaffee, over 250 local jobs have become available.  The three-week training event is called exportable Combat Training Capability or XCTC.      It is a program that has been used by the Army National Guard to train brigades since 2005.

This is the first year for the exercise to be hosted by Ft. Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center.  Mayor Sandy Sanders estimated over 2,000 hotel rooms have been booked by con- tractors during their 4-6 week stay.  The Ft. Smith area economy is being impacted by this event.
