Fort Smith Company Cuts 14 Positions

It was announced on June 17th that Baldor Electric Company is cutting fourteen jobs in Ft. Smith.  The positions being eliminated are salaried.  Challenging industrial business condi- tions were cited by the company as a reason for the cuts.  Officials said it is part of an "in- ternal restructuring plan".
The Ft. Smith Baldor Electric facility is located at 5711 Rs Boreham Jr. Street.  According to a company spokeswoman almost 2,000 workers are employed at that facility.
