There are going to be at least 75 jobs lost at the Gerber Ft. Smith production plant. This is due to the company going from glass baby food containers to plastic. In the past two years, the Nestle' Nutrition plant increased their number of workers by 90, bringing present employ- ment to approximately 700.
The facility is located at 4301 Harriet Ave. In 2013, $150 million in bonds were issued to the company through the City, with which expansions were done. The company is trying to keep the number of job losses to a minimum.
