A class action lawsuit has been filed by a Little Rock law firm against the four organizers of the Thunder On The Mountain music festival that was cancelled. Grant Williams filed the lawsuit on June 22nd on behalf of other customers who had purchased tickets to the event. It was to be held June 26th thru the 28th on Mulberry Mountain in Ozark, but was cancelled on June 13th due to a funding disagreement.
According to the lawsuit, the four companies involved in organizing the festival violated the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. The suit claims the defendants hid "the consider- able tension between them related to funding the festival, and indeed, that the funding of the festival was on very shaky ground." The suit also claims that organizers continued tic- ket sales even though they knew it was very likely that the event would be cancelled.
The class action lawsuit is seeking that the plaintiffs in the case be compensated for their actual damages, which would include expenses for hotel or camping reservations.
