Sunday morning at around 2 a.m., 911 dispatch received calls from employees at Kenco Plas- tics that one of the employees had been shocked while working on a machine. The name of that person has not yet been released.
According to the President and CEO of Kenco, Larry Henry, the worker received an electrical shock when his leg came in contact with an exposed conductor while he was working on a molding press. Greg Russell, Assistant Police Chief in Poteau, said First Responders were on the scene for approximately twenty minutes before requesting the Tulsa Life Flight medical helicopter transport the victim to Hillcrest Burn Center in Tulsa. A landing zone was set up at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center for the helicopter by the Poteau Fire Depart- ment.
Henry said in the twenty-seven years of operation, this is the first accident of this type that has occurred at Kenco Plastics.
